2) Marriage check
We checked for further details of the marriage in 1761 for John DOLMAN to
Mary GREEN.
The entry on fiche confirmed the following:
By banns
Both were of the Parish.
Both made their mark.
No marital status given.
Witnesses: Chris GUNDRY or GUNDEY, and Sarah HORTEN.
3) Baptism search
Looking for Mary GREEN (marr 1761).
I note that the IGI says "about 1740, Calne", and we found the following
possibilities:
CALNE
Parish Baptisms
1733/34 Mar 14 - Mary, dau of Thomas GREEN
1749 July 29 - Mary, dau of William GREEN, of Tibbalds Green
(taken from unpublished transcript in Wilts R.O.)
We also double-checked the period 1738-1742 chronologically, as well as
using index.
Without further information, it would appear that the 1733/34 entry is
possibly her.
I did do a quick marriage search, to see if there might be another entry for
her, and found this:
DATE: -- MAR 1756 PLACE: Calne
GROOM: REEVES Stephen of Blackland
BRIDE: GREEN Mary of this parish
Banns only - no marriage recorded.
Which could strengthen our case in this respect.
